US Army Spirit of America

We went to the Army's Spirit of America production again this year at the MCI center. The pictures are a bit fuzzy - it was dark inside. The Army's Old Guard runs the production. It's the second year we attended. The Fife and Drum corps, the Drill Team, and the Army Band performed. They re-enacted battle scenes starting from the revolutionary war up through Iraq. The Old Guard is the US Army 3'rd Infantry Regiment - they are based in Washington; and perform all kind of ceremonial duties in and around the District and at Arlington Cemetery. Its really well done!

Hurrican Rita

The following pictures came from a friend of my father's - I believe they have been clipped from all over the web. I've been to a number of these places - many have just been washed away never to return. My father took the last few pictures of the helecopter airlifting caskets that had floated out of the cemetery. They are spread all over the country side.
