Snow

It only takes about 2 inches of snow to shut down the seattle area. The snow started falling monday mid day, and by 6 the streets were really a mess. I worked from home because the streets in our neighborhood were frozen solid, and the schools were closed. Catherine and Caroline sled with other kids right across the street. Then Caroline came in and made a ginger bread house with Debbie while Catherine kept playing with Morgan. Its realy cold now, and they are saying its going to snow again wednesday - there may be several more inches. I though I had see the last of snow when we moved; guess not.

Grandparents Visit

Mom and Dad came to visit for Thanksgiving. They arrived and we went directly to see Catherine swim. We enjoyed visiting, and we did alot of sight seeing. We went to the Public Market, Chittenden Locks, Snoqualme Falls, Redmond, and Woodinville. Thanksgiving day Debbie made a great meal, and we had Judy and Stephan over. Saturday, Dad and I went on a Harbor Cruise, and Mother took Catherine then Caroline shoping and they saw Happy Feet. I put my father to work re-attaching the mirror to the 100 year old dresser he re-finished. It rained almost the entire week. Sunday it dried up when we got a little snow. Dad, and Catherine drove up towards the the Cascades - where there was more snow. We got a late lunch in Monroe, and while we were eating the snow started falling hard. We had a slow drive home, and the snow kept falling. I had to drop Mom and Dad at the airport early monday morning; luckily the snow didn't make a mess of the roads. They had a safe trip home and we had a really good vist. The snow started falling hard monday night.

Novermber Swim Challenge

Catherine had a great swim meet. This was a 2 day meet. I think Catherine swam in 9 events. She had some great heats, and times. In at least 3 events she ended up lapping part of the heat. In one event she finished two laps ahead of the next swimmer - she was clearly seeded too low. We were all disapointed to learn after the fact that her times counted as exhibition times, not for ribbons. But she swam great, and we won't make that mistake again. Sunday I picked up Mon and Dad at the airport, and took them to the meet. They enjoyed seeing Catherine swim.

Pike Street Market

The whole family went to the Pike Street Market and Pier area to look around. We had a good time watching them throw the fish, seeing all of the shops and produce, and street vendors. We covered quite a lot of territory, including the original Starbucks, and the Public Market.
