National Christmas Tree

After eating at a Malaysian restaurant in DC, we stopped by the National Christmas Tree. It was nicely lighted with trains all around the base. These pictures were taken with my camera phone so they are a little grainy.

Mormon Temple Christmas Lights

We drove over to the Mormon Temple in Maryland to see the Christmas lights. I only had my cameraphone so these pictures are fairly low quality. The grounds were really well done, there must have been several acres of trees lit. Inside they had a large collection of nativity scenes for all over he world; we enjoyed seeing them. We didn't go into the temple itself, I think its not open to the public; but its fairly impressive from the outside. Wish I had camera - would have taken more pictures.

Christmas Eve Services

We went to the Childrens service where they had what is called a noisy Nativity. All the children become part of the Nativity - Caroline was Mary, and Catherine was a wise man. It was a nice service -Merry Christmas!

Water Skiiing Santa Claus

For the last 20 years, santa and the elves water ski down the Potomac. We went to watch them today because it was so nice outside. It was so crowded we had to watch from across the river - but we saw them just the same. Here is the site - Water Skiing Santa you can see some better pictures.

Christmas Pageant

The children produced the Christmas pagent today. Catherine opened with Isaiah's prophecy of Jesus's birth. She then joined the Inn keeper crowd. Then Caroline entered as a sheep with the shepherds. The choir sang several songs to narrate the story. Debbie and the other leaders get a lot of credit for getting every one to learn their lines, and be on cue. It was the best pagent we've seen.

The Bahamas

This year's company trip was to the One & Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas. Its a plantation style resort, with a gorgeous beach, pool, and gardens. At one point the property was owned by the founder of the A&P supermarket chain - they built the Versailles style gardens that lead down to the pool. The beach was wide, and the water was about 5 shades of blue; the temperature was in the 70's the whole time - we came back home to snow. The Ocean Club is very high end spa - the treatment rooms were decorated with carvings from Bali, they were stunning. Yes, Debbie and I both visited the spa!

We had lunch all by ourselves in the golf course clubhouse; the grounds are gorgeous. Michael Jordan, and Oprah have huge homes on the golf course - I biked around and took some pictures. The big white house is Oprah's.

We had access to the Atlantis resort; you see it on TV allot. It was fun to walk through and go to the casino; but we were glad we were not staying there. It is a huge, sprawling property with a marina full of yachts, 2.7 million gallons of aquariums, and some really nice pool's and water slides.

We had a great time, and hope to go back one day.
